The hero of the film has not only the talent to reveal secrets. He himself is a big mystery. Leonid Parshin is the son of a Russian intelligence officer, an illegal immigrant from the age of two. In the 80s, his investigation of Bulgakov's riddles aroused particular interest among the KGB. And then surveillance, an attempt to escape from the Soviet Union, to swim across the Gulf of Finland, in the 86th there was an arrest and a prison.
